[CLOSED] Checking out the hospital

JD was walking up stairs.

Mila was complaining next to JD.
"Couldn't we have taken the lift?"

"Laziness is next to lonliness." Paul said, smiling.

Mila gave him a dirty look, and gave a serpent-like hiss.

JD rolled his eyes.
"Stop bickering, you two. We're here."
DOOR.

Paul opened the door.
"So from what I've inferenced between this conversation is that the 3 parts of my soul are missing. A demon-" He pointed to Mila. "An angel-" He pointed up. "And someone else has a piece each."

JD raised an eyebrow.
"Seriously? You think an angel has a part of your soul?" JD went through the door.
"What would they want with that?"

"Please-angels, demons, it's all secondhand with me now."
"The one bad thing would be if Lady Luck or Querrain has the third part of it."

"Yeah, and why would any demon be so interested in it anyways?"
Mila was snickering.
"You know. Besides W-..." Mila shook her head. "Wait... Who in the Circle's Querrain?"

"Gay demon," JD supplied.

"I dunno. Just a soul seems like the kinda thing a demon'd be intrested in. Or at least Satan. Speaking of which...I need to tell Shax he's uber creepy."
"Oh, you mean Queerain. He's this creeper."

Mila shook her head.
"You know, as much as we're into the whole, 'screw you almighty one', I'm not to sure any of us would be homos..." She looked at Paul.
"FYI, Shax is as normal as I am." Not waiting for a reply, she went into the room.
"So, Mr. Ember, when did you realize it was missing?"

"Right after the electrical jolt."

Mila gave him a weird look.
".. Electrical? Just how did that on happen?"

JD shrugged.

"Honestly? I don't know. I was in a coma..and then I was hit by something..but it was probably radiation...that's one of my weaknesses." Paul said the last 5 words lower than a whisper.

JD raised an eyebrow to this, but said nothing.

Mila nodded.
"Uh, huh. Ok, then!"
She went to the middle of the room, an orange tabby cat appearing next to her.
"You know, I've heard of a demon that deals in electricity, and I wouldn't put it past him..."

Time slowed around the trio.
Everything was frozen, including JD and Mila, who were unable to move, but were fully aware of what was happening.
Paul was able to move though.
"Paul Ember." Father Time said, appearing as a thirtysomething man in a black tuxedo.
"I have enjoyed this game of cat and mouse, but I think we both know that you have big upcoming plans."
"Hello, Mila. Acathay." Father Time said, turning his head.
"So, Paul, time is reversed-for now. You have your soul back, but as soon as one of the many life-changing events happens, this journey will resume."
Time resumed as Father Time disappeared.

Paul clutched at his chest, as if something was there.
"I feel whole again." Paul said, his eyes wide.
"And I know what he's talking about.." Paul said, that part in just above a whisper.
"So it's gonna happen all over as soon as...something happens?" Paul asked.
He phased into Phantom.
"I'm going to see Bell. Have fun, Acathay." Paul flew off.

"Ooookaaayyy..." JD looked at Mila.
"Stop grinning. You know I don't like it when you smile that way.."

Mila laughedd.
"Hmm, hmm... What,oh what, would little Paul do if he knew that he was calling you what he was?" She 'hmm'ed again.
"I LOVE that name... Father gave it to you..."

Jd flat out smacked her, knocking her back.
"Don't speak of that THING like I have some form of relation to it!"
He stalked off.
"I..." He sighed.
"I don't LIKE my heritage..." His voice dropped to a murmur.
"Never have."

Mila smiled at him, watching as he leaned back on the wall.
"Yeah..." She sat next to him.
"Well. Not MY fault what your dad was... Or your mom... Or you great-grandaddy.."
She shuddered.
"Ugh. No wonder our relationship didn't work out."

JD laughed harshly at that.
"Yeah. that and other reasons.."
He put his head on her shoulder.
"Other reasons..."

Mila sighed.
"Hey, Jos?" She whispered.
"Are we even friends?"

JD looked at her and laughed softly.
"Well... I was on the fence about it when you still took human sacrifices.."

Mila laughed.
"Loved those times."

JD rolled his eyes.
"BUT, I think we're good now."
He looked at her with a slight smile, then looked away.
"Geeeez, guess this just shows how much I'm losing my grip.."

"It's OK." Mila whispered. "You get used to it."
