On top of the Building

The Silver Mage sat on the very top of the tall building dedicated to heroes...
He pulled his mask off, his skin and hair silver... a lock of hair fell out.
Mage ran a hand through his hair... and more came out.
"AAGGH!"
He flung the hair out at the nothing that made up the night sky.
He spat out something... a tooth?
He tried to say something, but it came out slurred...

"You're dying," Whuf said.
"I can't do anything to stop it. I wish that you would live longer... So I could learn more about you and your origin.. Ah well."
Whuf set a hand on the boy's shoulder.

Rain gasped quietly, his facial features aging rapidly.

Whuf placed his arm fully around the man, a hug of sorts.
The most genuine emotion that the demon had ever displayed in the past 600 years flickered on his face.
"Goodbye."
He pulled away, then gently pushed the Mage on the back.

Rain exhaled, then, weak and dizzy as he was, fell the long distance.
He was dead before he hit the pavement.

Whuf stood on the edge, watching the man fall.
He winced as he hit the pavement.
"Soul, or no."
He sighed.
"Bye."
Whuf vanished, a sad look on his face.

The cops showed up.
