Roaming the woods (a dog's POV)

Rufus, a bulky dalmation/shepard mix, bounded through the woods.
He had been living in these woods for what felt like forever, but he didn't pay attention to time.
Not in such a dark place.
He continued on his way.

Aurora, a 'wit punt' dragon, made her way through the woods.
She being as old as she was, she knew these woods well. She knew it when it spanned much of this now-cold land.
She stopped when she saw the semi-spotted dog.
"Hello, small one."

Rufus stopped, snarling.
"Why are you in my land?"

"This land belongs to all, small one. I am Aurora Borealis."
The large dragon lowered her large head, a nod of sorts.

Rufus watched the dragon warily.
"All right... I am Rufus."

Aurora nodded.
"A fine name. Have you walked this ground long?"

Rufus did a dog-shrug.
I have long since forgotten the time I first came here. But it has been long."

I understand. Time does strange things to the mind.
The dragon shook her neck, scales rattling slightly.
I am looking for something. Will you help me?
