Coming in for a landing

JD quietly set down, his white flames turning black as the sun was rising.
(UV rays) he thought.
He started to walk the streets of Grayville.

Israfel walked beside him in his teen form.
"You're changing," he said.

JD started slightly.
"Would you people stop doing that!"
JD sighed.
"Yeah, I'm changing. But I've run the numbers. I won't end up like Alex, or Eva."
JD stopped.
"No, Eva's ok.. But I'm still not going to go through such an extreme change."

Israfel nodded, and glanced at the rising sun.
"Doesn't that sting?" He laughed softly in scorn.
"No. You'd never admit it. Least of all to me."

JD shook his head.
"Nope. You know me too well."
JD sighed. "You were there."

Israfel nodded.
"I was."

"Let me guess.." JD had stopped.
"Your orders weren't to save Dina. That's just like your kind."
JD resumed walking.

Irafel stood in front of JD.
"Yes. Those were our orders. Would you challenge the Will of heaven?"

JD shook his head.
"No. But I'd challenge a battalion of angels in a second."
He sighed as he turned another corner, on a meaningless route to nowhere.

Israfel gave JD a look that might have been a glare, but a stoic expression quickly replaced it.
"Yes? What then? No matter."
Israfel turned the corner with him.
"I know where you've been going. Even if I can't follow, God knows where you are."

JD shrugged.
"Guess that's always nice," he said with slight disdain.

Israel shook his head.
"You remain the surprising being, young one. You love God, yes, you may try to deny it, but you do."
He sighed, a human gesture.
"You do miss her. As much as anything. But part of you is keening for something beyond this realm..."

JD looked at the angel.
"Why, Israfel. Are you telling me to 'follow my heart'?"
He looked away.
"Well, if you are, it's stupid. I would die, you know this as well as I do."

"Hello, Acathay."
Whuf addressed JD as such.

JD spun around, and (unintentionally) hissed at the new arrivals.

Israfel looked at the new arrivals, suddenly looking very angry.
"You dare come here?" he said to Whuf.

Catherine looked at the people standing there and she wondered who they were. She didn't say much, but she learned a lot from the hissing.
Catherine looked very confused with the man saying that they dare come there. She guessed they weren't very welcome. They kinda had a reason, but who said they knew?

Israfel looked at Catherine finally.
"Another misguided being. You get around."

Catherine cocked her head in confusion.
"Umm... what's that supposed to mean?" She asked.

Whuf leaned to speak to her.
"It means, they don't like me. At all."
Speaking louder, he said,
"Issy. Haven't seen you in a while."
He looked at JD.
"Amd YOU. Did you seriously date Mila?"

Catherine just silently stood.
"Well, they kind of have a reason not to like you." Catherine smiled as she whispered back. They were obviously two heroes and we were two villains. Catherine didn't expect them to like them.

JD shook his head, then stepped forward.
"Enough talking."
He burst into black flame and threw a bolt of white energy Whuf's way.

Whuf nimbly dodged the bolt.
"VERY good! A lot closer than last time."

Catherine stepped back a little, feeling slightly uncomfortable. She would step in if Whuf was losing, but so far, he wasn't.

Whuf waggled his eyebrows Cathy's way, then snapped his fingers.

Israfel let out a long, inhuman shriek, and vanished.

Catherine sighed. That was interesting. She thought.
OOC: Is she with him?

OOC: With him? Specify, please.

IC: Whuf straightened himself out, standing to his 5 foot 9 height.
"Right." He looked at Cathy.
"Think you can take him?" He gestured to JD.

OOC: BTW, JD's super name is Switch.

OOC: Whuf lol. Well, I think she is.
Okay, I'll remember that.

IC: "Eh, I think I could." Catherine smiled. "I could make a big glacier come and hit him and then lightning come and strike him if I wanted..." Catherine smiled at the thought.

This was SO like him.
JD could see them, a few feet in front of him, but they were moving faster than him.
Time control.
Miniscule, maybe, but Whuf was capable of it.
